Ottawa Sod Installation
Everyone wants a beautiful lawn, but not everyone wants to wait through the time it takes to cultivate one from scratch. Green Works Contracting will deliver and install sod in Ottawa so you can have the beautiful lawn you’ve always dreamed of without the wait. Our sodding experts use a tried, tested, and true four-step process that has yielded great results for our valued customers time and time again.
Not only will your lawn be lush and green, but sodding will also help solve the problem of weeds and grubs that local homeowners find so hard to get rid of due to Ottawa’s chemical ban. Follow our maintenance plan and your lawn will continue to look great for years to come.
We start things off by excavating the existing lawn. We use a specially designed sod-cutter in the excavation process to remove 2-3 inches of turf and soil. From there, we rototill the native soil to chew up any remaining taproots. Between sod cutting and rototilling, we have then created a clean slate.
The excavated material will typically be taken to a local certified plant where it can be screened and resold. Upon request, we can also transport it to a specified location for use in a clean fill.
Grading and Rolling
The next step is installing a layer of turf-building topsoil. We pay a lot of attention ito grading the topsoil we use for our Ottawa sod projects, correcting errors and regrading it as many times as it takes to create proper drainage while getting rid of divots and bumps.
Now it’s time to pick up your freshly-harvested Kentucky bluegrass and install it for you. Our installation experts always take the time to carefully interlock and stagger the rolls to prevent shifting. Proper installation is important as it will encourage development of a healthy root system so that your new lawn will continue to wow.
The sod price is based on the size of your project and the amount of material and labour required. To get an estimate, check out our Sod Price Calculator.
On the day of your installation, we pick up your sodding material fresh from the sod supplier. Their special Ottawa sod products are made with a blend of blue grasses that has been carefully crafted to suit the local climate.
